Battle Star Galactica Online

Battle Star Galactica Online is a MMO sci-fi space game which anybody can play through a web browser. It is a browser based game, meaning no setup required, just install the simple Unity Web player add-on to your web-browser, and you ready to give it a try. The graphics are full 3D like a single player games. There are other 3D browser based games too but, the way this whole game is put together is really very nice. Depending on your taste (if you a kid or an adult) I can not say whether you would love it or hate it but to me, it is one of the best full 3D game available to play FREE or with real Cash and right through a web-browser without having a top edge gaming pc from anywhere at anytime. No need to carry your computer with you. It is very much or similar to the Freelancer of MicroSoft. It is Free to play but if you are impatient and can not or do not want to wait or work day by day to reach to the higher levels or to be a strong competitor, than we have a choice of purchasing game equipments with real cash.
The first thing you need to do is Register yourself, to make your login Identity, then when you click on the Start Game! (after a little loading of the game environment), it will ask you which side would you like to join? OR do you want to Auto Select (Auto-Select will be any of the 2 sides if you not sure which side you want to play) There are two sides or two opposing factions in this game. One is Cylon, I call it Red Team, they are Machines (but interestingly their superiors are humans, maybe they are cyborgs hmm..) and the second one is Colonial, that is a Blue Team, they are Humans. You can go through the long story behind the game on the website.

After all the initial procedures the first things we do is simple Tutorials. Tutorials teach us how to control our ship, how to fight, how to target, which thing is what and what not. We can skip the Tutorials but I suggest we should go through them cause, even though they are Tutorials but I found them good enough to give us a better starting and they are simple too. Depending on our level of thinking or understanding, we can benefit from them Or simply skip to the real PVP world and learn it through the hard way. Tutorials on both sides are similar, only difference is, one faction is Humans against Machines and the other is Machines against Humans.
The starting ships are Viper MK2 for the colonial side and Raider for the Cylon side. Given is the picture of the two ships majority starts with. Very few people directly go for a Viper MK7 or a War Raider which are the premium ship, meaning we can purchase them with real cash or work our way to get one of those.
In this game, Water is money (the game currency which is know as Cubits). We can either pay with real cash for different purposes like having the best ship and equipment right from the beginning OR we can work to gather this precious water and sell it to make cubits. Gathering or we say extracting water from small rocks floating around in the space known as Asteroids, is a little easy but a very long process. There is another way gathering water to sell it for cubits and that is to get it from a giant rock known as Planetoid which is really a painful process as it holds a lot of water and in the presence of high level paying players it is not that simple or easy as it may sound.
All the Asteroids and Planetoids needs to be scanned with a scanner. We click on them and we click on the scanner, scanner will tell us what it is in the Asteroid or the Planetoid. Yellow is for Tylium, which is used as a booster fuel (rapid and full thrust movement for a varied duration of time) and for buying many equipments along with cubits. Purple is for Titanium, which is used to repair the damages due to attacks from different ships. Blue is for water which we sell to make cubits. 5 water is equals to 0.2 Cubits or 2.0 Cubits (I forgot the exact figure but yes it is something like 5 water = 2 Cubits). Red color means, that the Asteroid or the Planetoid is Empty, nothing useful it in. Either way, scanning Asteroids and Planetoids gives us Experience points. Experience points are used to increase our skills which make it possible for us to improve our equipments we use in our ships, like guns etc.
In this game we have wings, which are like a permanent group of players but we can leave if we want to join another wing for whatever reason or want to work alone. Squad which is a temporary group of players gather together for doing anything as a small or big group like protecting the water planet from attackers or hunting some ships or players. We see all sorts of wings majority based upon the nationality or religion or community people belongs to. Muslim players who are mostly from the Arab countries or from western countries prefer to stick with their muslim wings and the rest non-muslims prefer to stick with the people from their own countries or like minded people. There are 12 or something servers, people can choose which one they want to choose as their main server. Once we chose a server and start building up our character, we can not transfer it to other servers. In other servers we will have to work from the level 1 again. But changing servers will not affect on our high level character in any system which we prefer to play as our main server.
For starters or new players (not those who have played already and have had enough of it) should not miss out the great opportunity to get a taste of fresh water available in abundance in the initial levels to them in the Battlespace. Battlespace is a place only for players level 1 to 9. Once we cross level 9 and becomes a level 10 player, this Battlespace disappears and we can no longer go or see it. In the middle of the Battlespace, there is a water planet, holding about 80k to 200k or more water each and everytime. So, majority of the cylon players, working as a small team of 2 or more people go into battlespace and get firm hold over the water planet for days and weeks. Colonials players are lousy, they think its too difficult to fight the low level cylon players and enjoy the water in battlespace which can give them a chance of getting a good ship or good starting point.

Once there inside Battlespace, a player needs not to attack the plateforms even if they attack the water mine and destroy it. The reason is that attacking and destroying the platforms will slowly increase our levels, there is no chance of standing against the level 12 platform as its hit power is quite strong for a player level 1 or 4. The only thing needs to be destroy is the ships of players from the opposing faction. If you a colonial player attack and destroy the cylon player and same for the cylon. If there is a mine over the water planet and it is from the Red (Cylon) team, than only cylon players will get water. If the water mine over the water planet is from the Blue (Colonial) team, than only colonial players will get water. To receive water from the mine (unlike the rest of the planetoids in the game) Cylon or Colonial players needs to be within 800 of the water mine (the distance should not be greater than 800 or 700) otherwise we wont receive water from that particular water mine. It is not the same with the other planetoids and mines. In other systems, when we placed a mine over a planetoid, than, no matter we stay in the same system or jump to another, we will continuously receive resources from the planet until or unless our mine destroyed by npcs or real players.
Ships are categorized into Strike (small ships), Escort (medium size ships) and Line (big size ships). We can purchase them from the shop depending upon what we can afford through real money or virtual money. Upgrading costs almost 10 times more than the initial cost of a ship which is a must without it there is not much choice.

Well, thats enough. More information you can find by playing the game for yourself. Give it a try, maybe you like it or hate it. Its not perfect but, anyway better than many of the kiddo looking 3D games and not many of the browser based games are full 3D so its nice to have something like this.
